Ramsey spent the summer in Australia promoting a book he recently published with his 08/09 homeroom class entitled Globalistic – writings from a millennial classroom (www.globalistic-book.com). The book was received very well in the “Land Down Under” and bought by several national bookstores throughout Australia. Ramsey also had the opportunity to speak at several LD schools in Western Australia as well as give lectures at Notre Dame University- School of Education (in Perth Australia) and Edith Cowen University. Both Universities will be using Denver Academy’s Globalistic book for their curriculum in teaching future teachers “Down Under”. Ramsey also spent much of his time in Western Australia interacting and observing the Fun Track Learning Center outside of Perth, Western Australia. Upon the request of Mary Appleyard, the founder of Fun Track, Ramsey taught several classes at the learning center which is one of the only schools in Western Australia that focuses on kids with Learning Differences. Through his new connections “Down Under”, Ramsey is hoping to use this experience to explore new, collaborative projects between Denver Academy and LD schools in Australia throughout the 2009/10 school year.
